I'm trying to install shrewsoft vpn client 2.2.2 on win10 x64 and get a "this app can't run on your pc" error. I refuse to use the other Cisco client, because it turned my laptop's network stack into an indescribable mess, and I had a horrible time of getting rid of it. I reverted to 8.1, removed Cisco VPN and was able to upgrade to 10 without any problems. ran client - got VPN Adapter error - changed registry setting as described8. This evening I found your post, upgraded my Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, followed all your steps… and now my Cisco VPN connection is working under Windows 10 like a charm! Followed the steps above. Cisco VPN Client works after installing Sonic VPN client and Registry edit. The likely reason was apparently due to the DNE LightWeight Filter network client not being properly installed by the Cisco Systems VPN installer. These malicious intruders can damage, corrupt, or even delete Runtime Errors-related files. Thanks.
